Gary Lyu

Functional Medicine Practitioner & Registered Nutrition Therapist

I work upstream, systematically, and conservatively to help people stabilise their health before problems escalate.

My practice focuses on how key biological systems—digestion, stress physiology, inflammation, metabolism, recovery, and circadian rhythm—interact over time. Often, subtle imbalances develop quietly long before a diagnosis appears. My role is to identify these patterns early and support the body’s ability to regulate and recover.

My interest in health began early, influenced by my mother’s background in biology. It became deeply personal through witnessing my father’s long journey with chronic illness. That experience shaped my belief in preventative, root-cause medicine: building resilience before crisis, and supporting recovery with structure rather than quick fixes.

I trained with the Institute for Functional Medicine and am also a qualified nutrition therapist. Earlier in my career, I worked across dental, aesthetic, and holistic clinics in Central London. This gave me direct insight into how chronic stress, metabolic strain, inflammation, and impaired recovery manifest across different systems of the body.

My approach is calm, precise, and evidence-informed. I prioritise stabilisation first, then deeper recovery—always tailored to the individual. Sustainable health is built through sequencing, not intensity.

Health, to me, is freedom: the ability to think clearly, move confidently, and live with stability.
